TriPac Power UnitAn important consideration in the manufacture of any power unit has always been to satisfy the individual needs and personal preference of the user. For this reason, Haskel offers the new TriPac power unit along with a variety of accessories that can be combined into a personalised power unit package to meet the demands of any hydraulic tool user.

When ordering your TriPac power unit, specify 51870 + Options + Pump Ratio (eg 51870-CFGILM-36)
This would be the most basic of the TriPac power units. By using option (A) hand pump attachment and (J) needle release valve, the user may now manually cycle the pump producing the pressure necessary to actuate the cylinder. Once the cylinder reaches pressure the oil is then released back to tank through needle release valve (J). If cylinder is double acting, customer supplied 4-way valve (2 position or 3 positions closed centre) can be used instead of valve U.

Recommended for use when alternate air is not available or desired for use. Excellent portable means of power for: Crimping/swaging tools for electrical connectors, hydraulic hose, and other related devices.
This TriPac power unit is similar to schematic 1 except set up to work with an air source. By adding shut off valve (L), push button air valve (E), and replacing needle release valve (J) with normally closed air actuated release valve (G) the operation is now simplified.

Turning valve (L) on will automatically cycle the pump till it reaches stall. Hand pump attachment (A) is used as a precision pressure control. Air valve (E) operates release valve (G) to an open position and oil is released back to tank.
Recommended for continuous duty and precision control of pressure testing type applications, such as: Hydraulic hose, valves, cylinders, fittings, proof testing, burst testing, and "Lift -Hold-Lower" control for jacks or lift tables.
Here the TriPac power unit is operated by palm/foot button (B) mounted on top of the tank in place of hand pump attachment (A). Palm button (B) works in conjunction with normally open air actuated release valve (H).

Pump will not cycle, though the filtered air source is turned on, until button (B) has been depressed. When depressed the pump cycles to desired pressure (or stall), normally open release valve is air actuated closed, allowing the oil to enter the cylinder. Releasing button (B) returns release valve (H) to normal position, the pump stops cycling and oil is released back to tank.
Recommended for momentary force assembly line type applications, such as: Riveting and fastening tools, cutters, shears, punches, gear pullers or any other related device.
This TriPac power unit performs in the same manner described in schematic 3. The difference is the unit is now operated by remote control, by using single button air valve (E) or stop/start toggle air valve (D) in place of palm/foot button (B).

To provide flexibility in performance, filter/regulator with gauge (K) has been added. The incoming air source may now be regulated to minimise or maximise the hydraulic outlet pressure. Also, adjustable relief valve (1) has been added to insure the protection of any downstream component(s).
Recommended for remote control of momentary force (valve E) type applications, such as: Torque tools, cutters, shears, pruning tools, punches, crimpers, swagers, and gear pullers.
Recommended for remote control of continuous force (valve 0) type applications, such as: Machine tool clamps or vices, safety brakes, clutches, valve actuators, and other related devices.
This TriPac power unit is the most complete package available for continuous duty, remote control operation. The unit consists of either bicycle grip control package (C) or bracket mount control package (C-1) (both have two colour coded, spring loaded levers, green and red), normally closed release valve (G), and safety relief valve (1).

The green lever is tied into external pilot (F) of the pump. The pump cycles until stall pressure is reached while the green lever is depressed. If released while pump is cycling, a holding condition occurs. The red lever is tied into normally closed release valve Q. When depressed valve (G) is actuated into the open position and oil is released back to tank.
Recommended for: Remote control of shop presses, lab moulding presses, jacks or lift tables, concrete chutes and other devices needing a "Lift-Hold-Lower" control for single acting cylinders.
Note: Tank holds approximately 3 litres of useable oil when filled 3/4" to 1" below top of tank.

Description |
| A | -HP | Hand pump attachment to provide manual operation of pump when shop air is not available, see schematic 1. May be used with shop air as a precision pressure control, see schematic 2. |
| B | 28590 | Palm or foot button to momentarily drive the pump. See schematic 3. Spring loaded shut, for start/stop action. Location of 28590 is same as hand pump attachment A. Therefore, both are not available on same unit. |
| C | 52016 | Bicycle grip control package equipped with two colour coded spring loaded levers for *remote operation. Green activates remote pilot of pump and release valve. Red activates 50149 normally closed release valve to vent oil back to tank. When levers are not depressed, a holding mode occurs. Designate C-1 for foot bracket mount. See schematic 5. |
| D | 31V | Start/stop toggle air valve 3-way, detented 2 positions: Run till stall; release. For holding type devices or clamping. Stall pressure determined by filter/regulator. Specify whether valve should be tank mounted or set up for remote control. See schematic 4. |
| E | 31P | Start/stop spring offset 3-way push button air valve: Hold to run; release. For operation of momentary force type tools and devices (see schematic 4), or Lift-Hold-Lower applications (see schematic 2). |
| F | 51811 | External air pilot provides for separate external air to pilot cycling valve. Used for remote control options. See schematics 4 & 5. |
| G | 50149 | 2-position, normally closed, 2-way release valve. Recommended for use with option C, C-1 or E up to 10,000 psi max. See schematics 2 & 5. |
| H | 51179 | 2-position, normally open, 2-way release valve. Recommended for use with options B, D & E up to 15,000 psi max. See schematics 3 & 4. |
| I | 51810 | Safety relief valve for the protection of downstream components, located upstream of outlet check valve of pump. Vent hole is inside tank. See schematics 4 & 5. Also available with any other circuit. |
| J | H-10 | Outlet tee and needle release valve for use when Pilot air is not available to actuate G or H. See schematic 1. |
| K | 26064-3 | Filter/regulator with gauge 0-160 psi. Maximum unregulated inlet pressure is 250 psi, ports are 1/4" NPT. See schematic 4. |
| L | 26065-3 | Brass ball valve for use as a start/stop or speed control, 150 psi maximum, 1/4" NPT. See schematics 2, 3, 4, & 5. |
*Standard length of control line on option: C & C-1 is 60" max.; D & E is 35" max. Longer lengths are available at extra cost.
